About this program
Cookout is a private, invite-only application a single friend group uses to coordinate get-togethers. It is not a public service and has no open sign-up. Members are added to the group by the group administrator with their direct permission; there is no way to join without being added by the administrator. SMS consent is collected individually from each member — it is never gathered in bulk or on anyone's behalf.
How members opt in
Consent is optional and is never bundled with creating an account. On first login at cookout.scroggindaz.com, each member sets a personal PIN. On that same screen they are shown a separate, unchecked checkbox with this exact label:

Account activation and login do not require checking the box — the PIN works either way. Existing members can turn the same consent on or off at any time from their profile ("You" → Text message consent). Messages are sent only to members whose consent is on.
What messages we send
- Login codes — a one-time 4-digit code to confirm a sign-in.
- Event & group notifications — e.g. a new plan was started, someone RSVP'd to your plan, or someone posted a signal to the group.
We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
Frequency, rates, opt-out
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
